President Uhuru Kenyatta has threatened the opposition chief Raila Odinga with an impending impeachment should NASA win in the fresh presidential elections slated for October 17.
Mr Kenyatta while riding on the majority of elected leaders from MCA’s, MPs, Governors and Senate positions said the party has the opportunity to impeach him(Raila) in three months’ even if he wins the presidential elections
“We have the numbers in Parliament that in three months we can use to impeach Raila Odinga even if he wins the elections,” said Uhuru while meeting Ukambani leaders at State House.
It now appears the battle between the two might shift to the floor of the House should the opposition carry the day.
Kenyatta said that with the ‘tyranny of numbers’ the Jubilee government is able to change the constitution without the participation of their counterparts in NASA.
“What can he (Raila) do or what is he going to do even if elected. He cannot not transact any business in the House because Jubilee has the numbers,” said Kenyatta.
Last week NASA legislators threatened to boycott the official opening of Parliament by president Uhuru Kenyatta.
“Well done. Go ahead and boycott the opening of parliament because we will be there to open it and start passing bills that did not pass in the 11th Parliament,” he added.
Former Mutito MP Kiema Kilonzo, who was among Kamba leaders pledged support for Kenyatta’s re-election said that the community will no longer be in the opposition.
“Never again will the Kamba nation be in the opposition. We will go to the wards, polling stations to guard your votes,” said Kilonzo.
Kenyatta further urged Kenyans to maintain peace as we head to the October 17 polls.
