The federation of women lawyers (FIDA) has demanded an apology from Kitui East MP Nimrod Mbai following allegations that the called for the rape of Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu.
Josephine Mong’are, the national chairperson FIDA condemned the MP saying failure to apologize will lead to legal actions against him.
Mong’are accused the Jubilee lawmaker of sexually harassing Ms Ngilu.
“This is a clear demonstration of elections gender based violence emitted against women.This confirms some of the forms of intimidation that women are taken through when they come out to view for political positions,”said Monga’re in a statement.
She said intimidation against women in politics made it difficult for Kenya to achieve the third gender principle.
In the undated video,Kitui East MP,Nimrod Mbithuka Mbai,is captured calling for the rape of Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu,whom he accused of making a similar call.
