Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has said the petition filed by Nyeri Town MP Wambugu Ngunjiri calling for the removal of Chief Justice David Maraga from office should be withdrawn.
Kuria said the Judiciary should be accorded the respect it deserves as an independent institution.
He spoke on his way Parliament on Thursday.
“That petition is unnecessary. It should be withdrawn. We should criticise the Supreme Court as a whole and not Maraga,” he said.
Uhuru has consistently vehemently criticised Maraga since the Supreme Court overturned his victory after the August 8 general election.
On Wednesday when he met leaders from the Abagusii community at State House Nakuru Uhuru said he has issue with the community but he has a problem with Maraga who he accuses of denying him victory after being re-elected.
