Opposition leader Raila Odinga’s time in active politics is over and he should do the ‘honourable’ thing- retire and retreat to Bondo, Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has said.
The former prime minister’s contribution in Kenya’s democratisation cannot be challenged but he should hand over his political button to “young, active and energetic” leaders to continue championing his democratic agenda, Kuria said.
Kuria said the planned swearing-in of Raila is inconsequential since State House is already occupied following the swearing-in of President Uhuru Kenyatta recently.
If he is sworn-in as NASA plans on December 12, Raila will be President for Gor Mahia and not Kenya, Kuria said.
NASA plans to ‘swear-in’ Raila as the opposition coalition says it won’t recognise Uhuru’s win after the October 26 repeat election.
“The best position for Raila now is Gor Mahia President,” he said.
“But still Gor Mahia now has a president whom I recognise since I am a K’ogalo fan.”
He said Raila risks going to jail because his swearing-in amounts to treason.
