The Finance Executive in the newly-appointed cabinet of Kisumu County has resigned from the post a few days to his swearing-in.
Mr Robert Ken Ouko, a former Chase Bank executive, informed Governor Anyang’ Nyong’o that he would not accept his appointment despite a strong endorsement from the county assembly.
“The Finance CEC nominee resigned after informing me a few days ago that he couldn’t take up the job I offered him but thanked me altogether for the opportunity,”Nyong’o confirmed.
The Governor said there will be no crisis in the county following the turn of events conveying that the docket was still functioning at optimum levels.
“We have good chief officers and directors in that docket who have been holding the department. We will fill the position carefully,” he said.
Mr Ouko is said to have received another appointment that he favoured above the county position.
